Why we made it this way
Tracing boards work because writing is a motor skill before it is a literacy skill. A child who has run a stylus along the same arrow fifty times has built the movement, and recognising the letter afterwards is comparatively easy.
Having uppercase and lowercase on opposite faces keeps the two alphabets apart. Children generally meet capitals first, and flipping the board is a clear signal that the second set is a new job rather than more of the first.
This is the one item in our catalogue that reaches past the first two years, and the only one that comes back out once a child is in a classroom. It is also the board visitors see first when they open our storefront.
